| The Tour of Kensington Valley p/b Midwest Cycling Group is the ONLY road race in the metropolitan Detroit area! Held on a challenging 8.5 mile circuit within the beautiful setting of Kensington Metro Park, this event is traditionally the best attended race in the state. Categories WILL fill up and close, so register early. The 8.5 mile circuit features several challenging climbs per lap. One feature to be cautious of is the turn-around at the far end of the park. Pavement in this section is VERY POOR. This 1/8 mile section is neutralized during the race. No attacking through the turn-around section at Martindale Beach! Also, please take the poor pavement into consideration when selecting wheels/tires, The remainder of the course features very good pavement. Timing will be chip-timed. All races start per the schedule. Every year there are several unlucky competitors who miss their race start time. Don't let this happen to you! Be at the start at your scheduled category start time. This race falls right in the middle of several BIG road races in Michigan. Come out and hammer the competition during the May 3 - Cone-Azalia Classic Road Race May 16 - Tour of Kensington Valley Road Race May 23 - Tour das Frankenmuth Road Race May 30 - West Branch Classic Road Race More information is available at www.mbra.org Hope to see you at the race! |
